About Meghan
A proud alumna of Hauppauge High School, Meghan Smith is a current graduate student in the School Counseling program at New York Institute of Technology. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration and Public Policy with a concentration in Health from SUNY Cortland, where her coursework in education policy ignited a passion for education reform. Believing that school counseling is a powerful avenue for positive change within the educational system, Meghan is dedicated to supporting students' individual needs and staying current with best practices in the field. She is particularly interested in school violence prevention, advocating for comprehensive measures to create safe and inclusive learning environments. Meghan has experience working with students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Inspired by her high school counselor, Mrs. Wanatick, Meghan strives to be an exemplary professional in the field. In her free time, she enjoys playing guitar and attending concerts, especially those featuring Bruce Springsteen.
